Customer Problems and Solutions
Pain Points
Customer Problems
01
Cost
Without the introduction of significant quantities of renewable energy (which is currently the cheapest form of generating electricity), the impending closure of existing coal-fired power stations will ensure the cost of power will continue to increase. Businesses in all sectors are acutely aware of this problem.
02
Energy Reliability
As a result of the ageing coal-fired generation assets and the largest transmission and distribution network in the world, a reliable supply of electricity is becoming an increasing concern for both businesses and residential users alike.
The digitisation and urbanisation in Australia and elsewhere, is increasing the reliance on a sustainable and reliable source of energy to meet our needs.
At the same time as this reliance has increased, ageing infrastructure, combined with changes in climate and the nature of the current energy system, are challenging both the system and the markets.
03
Customer Perception Towards Environmental Sustainability
Environmental responsibility is something consumers have come to expect from businesses. Today it is standard for organisations to incorporate environmentally friendly business practices and is perceived negatively when consumers discover otherwise.
As a general rule, companies adopting environmentally responsible practices are seen to have greater credibility than businesses that do not embrace such practices. Many of these environmentally responsible initiatives sets businesses apart from their competitors and attracts new customers who want to buy products and services from, or through an environmentally friendly business.
Consumer patterns are moving toward sustainable products, especially in the Gen Y and Millennial sectors. The habits of younger generations are forcing businesses to rethink their approach to sustainability. Smart businesses realise over the next 5 to 10 years they will be increasingly selling to the Gen Y and Millennial sectors, this gives them no alternative but to embrace an environmentally sustainable future.
Increasingly, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and green procurement remain high on the agenda for many companies and organisations operating in Australia and worldwide. A positive environmentally sustainable image is becoming increasingly important to businesses when maintaining and gaining new customers.
Consumers of electricity across all sectors are acutely aware of the requirement for sustainable practices. As energy generation is the number one generator of emissions in Australia, consumers of electricity are increasingly looking to green and clean sources to meet their needs.
Large business has been aware of the need to portray their environmentally friendly credentials, small to medium businesses are becoming increasingly aware of the need to do so.

Healm Energy’s Solutions
Financial Sustainability
01. Reducing the Cost of Energy
With the advent of the VPP and the AEMO facilitating the use of DER’s to support the integrity of the NEM, Healm Energy have an innovative solution to building a mesh generation and storage network that provides low-cost renewable energy to local business.
The off-taker enters into a Power Purchase Agreement to purchase the energy generated by the renewable energy system that provides a typical saving of 25% on their cost of electricity with an escalation of 3% per annum.
Mesh Network
02. Addressing Reliability
Almost all outages are caused by problems in transporting electricity and have nothing to do with whether the power was generated from new renewables, old coal or some other technology.
Over the past 10 years, more than 97 per cent of outages across the NEM could be traced to the poles and wires that transport power to homes and businesses.
It would be prohibitively expensive to try to prevent all these outages. The New South Wales and Queensland governments spent $16 billion more than was needed on distribution networks over a decade, while achieving only very small improvements in reliability. Households and businesses are still paying for this through their power bills.
The mesh generation and storage network being built by Healm Energy sits on the local distribution network negating the need to transmit and distribute energy over large distances.
Should the power provided by the grid be disrupted, the inclusion of storage in the Healm Energy network ensures an energy supply is maintained.
03. Changing Customer Perceptions
The installation of a renewable energy system on our customer’s premise provides our customer with the credentials to market themselves as an environmentally friendly business.
Should the customer choose to install the solar carpark option, the install is clearly visible and demonstrates the customer’s commitment to environmental sustainability and CSR. The installation of electrical vehicle charging points within the solar carpark also serves to enhance their commitment.
The data collected from all the equipment installed, allows Healm Energy to install digital signage in and around the business that can display many parameters, including reduction in CO2 use, renewable power generated and a myriad of associated relevant data that demonstrates the customer’s commitment.
The perception portrayed by our customers when installing any of the above options is inherent in the Healm Energy offering.
